A Late Summer Wedding at Broome Park Hotel
Laura and Callum’s wedding at Broome Park Hotel in Canterbury began beneath the soft golden glow of a late summer’s morning. Dew clung gently to the manicured greens as we drove down the long tree-lined entrance, the Grade I listed manor house standing proudly against the Kent countryside.
As Kent wedding photographers, there are venues you admire online and then there are venues that truly deliver when you arrive. Broome Park was firmly on our bucket list, and stepping out of the car (Costa in hand, naturally) we immediately began spotting portrait locations for later.
The symmetry of the Italian Gardens. The grand façade. The textured wood-panelled interiors.
Elegant. Timeless. Editorial.
That was the brief and this Canterbury wedding venue offered it effortlessly.
Why Broome Park Hotel Is One of Kent’s Most Impressive Wedding Venues
Located just outside Canterbury, Broome Park Hotel is a historic country house wedding venue surrounded by acres of private estate grounds. The combination of architectural grandeur and open landscape makes it one of the most versatile wedding venues in Kent.
Couples have access to:
A character-filled indoor ceremony space
22 mansion house suites
14 woodland lodges across the estate
Italian Gardens and landscaped grounds
A marquee reception space with countryside views
The manor house itself provides a romantic, heritage setting, while the grounds allow space for relaxed drinks receptions and natural, candid moments.
For couples planning a Canterbury wedding, it offers the rare balance of historic elegance and practical flexibility ideal for both photography and videography throughout the day.
Wedding Photography at Broome Park Hotel
As experienced Kent wedding photographers and videographers, we are always drawn to venues that offer depth and variet and Broome Park delivers on both.
Inside the manor house, the grand staircase and reception rooms create dramatic yet timeless portrait opportunities. The natural window light combined with rich wood detailing lends itself beautifully to editorial-style imagery while still feeling authentic and relaxed.
The bridal master suite is perfect for preparation photographs. Spacious and filled with character, it allows for those quiet, emotional morning moments before the ceremony begins.
Outside, the Italian Gardens are a dream for structured, symmetrical portraits. Laura and Callum embraced the editorial feel completely incorporating a dramatic dip kiss framed by the gardens before transitioning into more playful, personality-filled images.
Golden hour across the estate is particularly special. As the sun lowers over the Kent countryside, the grounds glow softly, creating romantic, cinematic portraits without feeling staged.

For group photographs, the grand exterior steps provide balance, space and beautiful architectural framing perfect for larger family groupings and bridal party portraits.
Reception & Evening Atmosphere
Following the ceremony and portraits, guests gathered in the marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. The marquee provides seasonal flexibility ideal for both summer weddings and those unpredictable British weather moments.
With atmospheric lighting and a spacious dance floor, the evening transitioned seamlessly from heartfelt speeches to energetic dancefloor moments. Outdoor seating allowed guests to enjoy the peaceful countryside setting while still feeling part of the celebration.
From morning preparations to the final song, Broome Park flows naturally, something we always look for when capturing a full wedding story.

Insider Advice from Kent Wedding Photographers
If you are booking accommodation at Broome Park Hotel, we recommend choosing one of the mansion house rooms rather than the woodland lodges if possible. The historic detailing and architectural features provide a richer atmosphere and elevate your preparation photographs significantly.
The Charles II room, in particular, offers generous space and beautiful period features.
