Champagne & Chandeliers weddings at Hythe Imperial Hotel

Updated: Mar 11

A bold black and white wedding concept inside one of Kent’s most iconic venues.

We’ve worked at Hythe Imperial a lot over the years. It’s a kent wedding venue that just… works.

Whatever kind of weddings you’re dreaming of, it fits. If you’re leaning traditional? Perfect. Want something a bit seaside wedding themed? Easy, it’s literally right by the sea.

And the team from weddings at Hythe Imperial Hotel are brilliant. Honestly, they’re some of the most professional wedding suppliers we work with. Whatever couples want to do, they just make it happen. No drama, no stress, everything runs smoothly and it’s always a pleasure to work alongside them.

But there’s something about this venue that I’ve always felt was being overlooked.

It’s a hotel.

And not just any hotel, a Spectacularly glamorous one.

When you really think about it, the possibilities are amazing. Imagine sneaking down the hallway late at night with a bottle of Moët. Jumping into the lift for a cheeky kiss. Running down those long elegant corridors in your wedding dress while the chandeliers sparkle above you.

We’ve been wedding photographers at Hythe Imperial many times, but this slightly sexy, classic black and white vibe had never come up once.

Is that because couples don’t want it?

Or because nobody had shown them it was possible?

Honestly… it was driving me a little bit mad.

So eventually I said to the team, “Guys, I really want to do this shoot. I want to show people what they could have here.”

And because the supplier team around this venue is awesome, everyone jumped on board.

And here we are.

The wedding Dresses

Ugh. The dresses.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a massive dress lover anyway, but these dresses absolutely nailed the brief. Classic, elegant, dramatic… everything we were hoping for and more. When the models stepped into them the whole vision just suddenly clicked into place. A short wedding dress especially just fit the vision so well.

Trusting the Experts

One of my favourite parts of shoots like this is working with people who are genuinely brilliant at what they do.

When hair asked us what we wanted, Simon and I as photographers who know absolutely nothing about hair (lol) basically said “what do you think?”

And she absolutely nailed it.

That classic, polished, timeless look that just fit the whole vibe perfectly.

Same with the makeup, the styling, the cake, the stationery, every supplier brought their own expertise and creativity and elevated the whole shoot. It’s one of the reasons styled shoots like this work so well: everyone brings their own magic to the table.

At the end of the day we’re all specialists in our own little corner of the wedding world, and when those pieces come together properly… it’s pretty awesome.

A Different Side of Hythe Imperial

This shoot was really about showing a different side of a venue we already know and love.

Hythe Imperial can absolutely do the classic elegant wedding day, it does it beautifully.

But it can also do editorial, glamorous, champagne-fuelled romance just as easily.

And honestly… with chandeliers like these, how could we not?

If you're planning a wedding at Hythe Imperial Hotel, it’s genuinely one of our favourite venues to photograph. As experienced wedding photographers here, we know the building inside and out from the grand interiors and stunning chandelier to the quiet corners, elegant hallways and beautiful seaside surroundings. It’s a venue that offers an incredible variety of backdrops throughout the day, which means your wedding gallery ends up feeling rich, stylish and completely unique to you.
